Some days ago I asked my favorite blogger couple Sidsel and Lasse if they wanted to enlighten people around the world about their hometown Aarhus, the second biggest and very cosy city in Denmark.
♥ Little introduction to yourselves
We are a Danish couple from Aarhus. Lasse is 26, Sidsel is 25 and together we run the blog sidseloglasse.com where we write about our everyday life, travel, fashion, education, food and lots more.
♥What makes Aarhus special and unique and how is it living there?
Aarhus is the perfect “little big city”. You can reach everything – shops, friends, the sea, museums, cinemas, forests etc – within a ten minute bike ride. Aarhus also has a special vibe that is very welcoming and friendly. Coming back to the city always feels like coming home.
♥ What characterizes people from Aarhus?
Cosmopolitan “jyder”! Our impression is that people from Jutland are generally quite laid back, modest, hardworking, and polite. So in Aarhus you get very easy going city folks with a smile on their lips and a lot of interesting projects going on.
♥ Best coffee in Aarhus?
We are blessed with some of the best coffee shops here in Aarhus! Great Coffee, La Cabra and Bill’s Coffee just to name a few.
♥ Best breakfast in Aarhus
A Sunday morning eating brunch at Klassisk Bistro 65 is a Sunday well spent! Fresh omelettes, crepes and a large assortment of charcuterie and cheese – très bien! Otherwise Juliette and La Cabra are also nice.
♥What would a perfect day off in Aarhus look like to you?
The day starts off with breakfast in the sun in the Latin Quarter followed by some shopping. Then maybe a bike ride to the sea and a walk in the Risskov forest. Later on we bike back to the city and have a tasty meal at one of the cheap French bistros in Mejlgade followed by an ice cream at suppestegogis.
Make sure to check out Sidsel & Lasse’s blog. I especially loved their pictures from their recent trip to Mexico, and now I want to go there asap! (All pictures are from Sidsel & Lasse’s blog.)
