I love many places in the world. I am not very critical, so it really doesn’t take that much for a city or destination to impress me. However, Antwerp managed to impress me to a whole new level. Within a few hours, I was convinced, I would wanna move to Antwerp one day! That is quite an accomplishment for a city. Antwerp is a small city which means it is perfect for a quick getaway. Of course, it is nice to have time on your hands to really explore the city, but I’d also say that two efficient days would be enough here. And in two days would also be sufficient to have you feel like you must come back! 😉 Antwerp is located less than an hour by train from Brussels Airport. The train ticket will cost you from 11 euros, and the trip is simple and fast. Antwerp has everything a big, nice city should have, but in a compact version. Different neighborhoods, sights, hip places to eat, nice cafes, culture, art, water, and old, stunning medieval architecture. And finally, some signs of life from my apartment where I am locked inside with 72 hours of exam writing. It really sucks and I would just about do everything else than writing this exam. Especially, as Distortion, a huge street festival, is currently taking place in the street of Copenhagen. But nope, I can’t join the party, exam duties are calling. I allowed myself a little break (or 10!) to share some pictures from my trip to Belgium where I went this weekend. More exactly, the 48 hours I had in Brussels after spending 1,5 days in Antwerp with Visit Flanders.
ENGLISH (DANISH VERSION BELOW) Belgium is glorious. 30+ degrees, sunshine, an Aperol Spritz a day, great people and good food. What more can I possibly ask for? As I am here with Visit Flanders, I have been on a packed schedule leaving little time for blogging, hence why it has been pretty quiet on the blog. First things first – I arrived in Antwerp Friday in the early afternoon, so we will start there with a little photo diary from my 1,5 days in Antwerp. Antwerp instantly got me thinking that it is the kind of city, I would wanna live in one day. If you feel that way, you know it is a great place!
ENGLISH (DANISH VERSION BELOW) I feel so lucky! It has been a week since I got back from Budapest, and tomorrow morning I am already off again! This time I am flying to Belgium to spend four days. Two days in Antwerp and two days in Bruxelles in collaboration with Visit Flanders. I have never been to Belgium before, so I am excited! We have a packed schedule for the four days. We are going to do different, exciting things such as a chocolate workshop (my favorite!), museum visits, tours, visiting a brewery and much more. Can’t wait! Oh, yeah, and it is going to be 34 degrees (too hot for the Dane over here!) See you in Bruxelles.
